Bruichladdich ‘Sherry’ Editions
John Hansell on the ever-excellent Malt Advocate blog offers reviews of two Bruichladdich expressions finished in sherry casks – one Olorosso and the other Manzanilla (we’ve written about these before).
Both win high marks; but Thomas Maufer over at The Officially Unofficial Bruichladdich blog wonders whether differences types of sherries — although it’s almost never mentioned in the Scotch industry — can significantly affect the flavor of Scotch aged in sherry casks. This seems like a fair point. Anyone have any experience in this area? Would love to hear your comments.
