New Whiskies from Tomatin
John Hansell of the Malt Advocate has the low down on some newly released older vintages from Tomatin, notably a 40 year old ($1,000) and an 18 year old ($60) he calls “the best bang for the buck.”
Whisky.com notes that Tomatin was acquired by Japanese investors in 1986, starting a new era of distilling for the storied company. Younger vintages have been available throughout, but now these are being augmented by 30 year old and 40 year old vintages, and they do not appear to disappoint.
